The Wisconsin Badgers have unfortunately lost a commitment in the 2026 class, but now must compose themselves and find a replacement.
2026 three-star safety Zachary Taylor, a native of Texas, announced that after plenty of consideration, he would flip his commitment to the TCU Horned Frogs. Texas schools rarely allow in-state recruits to go without a fight, and following his commitment to the Badgers weeks ago the Horned Frogs ramped up the recruitment of Taylor.
With Taylor now gone, the Badgers will have to act quickly and try to land another commitment within the 2026 cycle before time runs out. Many players opt to lock-in commitments before the start of their senior year, which means the Badgers will likely only have a month to flip a current commitment or develop a relationship with a recruit and secure a pledge.

One such current commitment who the Wisconsin Badgers could target is in-state three-star athlete Michael Farr, who the Badgers view as a safety. Farr was previously on campus and met with Wisconsin staff, but holds a commitment with South Dakota State which has stayed strong thus far. The Jackrabbits landed Farr nearly a month ago, but could be in danger of losing the recruit if Wisconsin renews recruiting the athlete.
Wisconsin Badgers Could Target Athlete Michael Farr Following Zachary Taylor Commitment Flip
On the field, the 6-foot, 190-pound safety flies around and plays with great instincts, often disrupting would-be big plays. Farr can do a bit of everything, but where the safety really excels is in physical situations as Farr uses all of his frame in his hits, pass break-ups, and aerial plays.
The capable defender is a freakish athlete and someone who has arguably gone under-the-radar due to his location and competition. However, the mold and intangibles are there for the recruit which could lead the Wisconsin Badgers staff to push for a potential commitment flip.

While Farr is a great prospect and arguably a good fit within the Badgers defense as well, the recruit is also by far the easiest replacement for the staff. Wisconsin has a relationship with some other commitments at safety in the 2026 class, but many players have shut down contact. Wisconsin needs to start from scratch and find the right find that still remains in the 2026 class, which could be a very difficult task.
With the introduction of Farr, however, the Badgers could stay close to home without having to utilize major resources looking to fill the void Taylor has left. Even if Farr does not flip his commitment in the favor of the Wisconsin Badgers, pushing the recruit and trying to do so is likely a good decision before starting over again at safety.
