The Wisconsin Badgers by the Numbers
Badgers volleyball is currently 5-0 after a dominant start to the season that saw them defeat 4 Top-25 teams in their first 5 games. The other team is part of the Big 12 Conference. This is their 7th time starting out 5-0 under head coach Kelly Sheffield. After starting out the season ranked second in the nation, their impressive opening weekend saw them jump to No. 1 overall.
The Badgers are leading the Big Ten in many categories, including hitting percentage. Their .323 hitting percentage is 50 points higher than the next closest in Maryland at .280. It also puts them 11th in the entirety of Division I.
Badgers Volleyball Milestones and Notable Player Stats
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: Izzy Ashburn is well on her way to becoming the Ace Queen for Wisconsin Badgers volleyball. She trails Margie Kaminski by just 3 aces and has averaged 0.38 aces per set during her time in Wisconsin.
Sarah Franklin, a senior, is looking to hit the 1,000-kill milestone pretty soon. She’s at 974 and needs just 26 to get there. With double-digit kills in eight straight matches and a 3.94 kills per set, she’ll be there in no time.
