For her final year of eligibility, Gluce Guctekin has elected to continue her volleyball career by playing in the South Eastern Conference (SEC). The University of Tennessee finished with a 15-12 record in 2024 that included going 8-8 in conference play. They additionally lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament as they dropped a five set match to Georgia Tech.

On her Instagram post, Gluce Guctekin said, “I am deeply grateful to my family, friends, and coaches who have supported me throughout my journey.” She also went onto say, “As I begin this new chapter, I am committed to giving my best both on the court and academically…I can’t wait to work with my new teammates and become part of the Tennessee family.”
Who might take over Gluce Guctekin’s previous role on the Wisconsin Badgers?

A season ago Gluce Guctekin played in 26 of 33 total games, with most of them coming as a defensive specialist. Her elite court coverage and serving abilities will be missed and the Badgers may have to turn to some new faces to replace the role she previously occupied. Lola Schumacher is the favorite to return as libero next year, but other options at defensive specialist include current freshman Malie Chan and incoming freshmen Aniya Warren or Kristen Simon.
