The Wisconsin Badgers will be at some point hitting the transfer portal to prepare for the 2024 college football season and one of the hot names on the transfer portal is Florida running back Trevor Etienne, per Pete Nakos.
With Braleon Allen declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft, they will need to find their next starting running back. Wisconsin always has very good running backs. Etienne is the younger brother of Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne.
Trevor Etienne will have two years of eligibility remaining. He is only 19 years old and is 5’9″ and weighs 205 lbs. Last season with the Florida Gators, Etienne rushed for 753 yards on 131 carries and eight touchdowns. He averaged 5.7 yards per carry.
Trevor Etienne also caught 21 passes for 172 yards receiving and one touchdown. He also averaged 8.2 yards per reception. Etienne is going to have a lot of suitors from other collegiate programs and the Wisconsin Badgers should be all in on him.
Trevor Etienne Would be a Massive Upgrade to the Wisconsin Badgers Program at the Running Back Position
Over this season for Wisconsin, Braelon Allen led the way with 984 yards rushing on 181 carries and 12 touchdowns. He averaged 5.4 yards per carry. After him, senior Chez Mellusi will be graduating after this year and he was the second-leading rusher with 307 yards on 51 carries and four touchdowns. Mellusi averaged 6.0 yards per carry. The leading rusher returning for next season would be redshirt sophomore Jackson Acker. He rushed for 236 yards on 58 carries and one touchdown and averaged 4.1 yards per carry. Freshman Cade Yacamelli would also be in the mix next season for the Wisconsin Badgers’ backfield. He rushed for 124 yards on 29 carries and zero touchdowns and averaged 4.3 yards per carry.
Having Trevor Etienne in the backfield for the Badgers would be a big boost if they were able to land him in the transfer portal. Head coach Luke Fickell is going to need to find a way to lure him into the cold north. Etienne is from Jennings, Louisiana and NIL is going to matter in this transfer portal situation.
Etienne would provide a nice dimension to this Badgers offense. It would help out the other young running backs on this roster.
