The Wisconsin Badgers aren’t the first team you think of outstanding football programs, but they’ve developed into a great team over the past decade. Paul Chryst helped build the team into a Bowl-eligible roster year in and year out.
However, they’ve since moved on from him and appointed Luke Fickell as their new head coach. The former Cincinnati coach didn’t have the best debut campaign, but he led the team to the ReliaQuest Bowl where they lost a close game to Louisiana State.
Badgers fans are hoping the coming season would be a step in the right direction as Fickell would be playing with recruits he personally identified last season. However, the arrival of new contenders in the Big East will make things tough for the team’s postseason hopes.
To make things even more interesting, Fickell will be in for a ride as they will face five of the best football teams in the country in the preseason.

WMTV’s Anderley Penwell wrote about the Badgers’ schedule, and the teams they’ll face include some of the teams who joined the Big East from the Pac-12:
The Badgers have two of those four on their schedule this year. They will play at no. 23 USC in late September, then welcome no. 3 Oregon to Madison in Mid November.
He also noted the other top-ranked teams they will play over the course of their regular-season campaign:
They will play five teams who started off ranked in the AP Top 25 Preseason Poll, including mighty Alabama in Madison for Week 3. From there, UW will hit the road for the first time, taking on their first big ten opponent in no. 23 USC.
They will play three ranked teams starting at the end of October, welcoming no. 8 Penn State, followed up with a road trip to no. 25 Iowa, then a bye week, then back home for no. 3 Oregon.
It will be an interesting season for the Badgers because they will be playing without Tanner Mordecai at QB and Braelon Allen at RB. If they manage to become eligible for a bowl game despite their tough schedule, it will give a lot of momentum to Luke Fickell and his squad.
