The Wisconsin Badgers wanted to win on Tyler Wahl’s Senior Day on Thursday night against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. The Badgers won that game over the Scarlet Knights by a final score of 78-66.
Wahl only scored three points, grabbed six rebounds, and recorded one assist in this matchup. After the game, Rutgers head coach Steve Pikiell spoke to Jeff Potrykus and told him:
“Tyler Wahl…I’m going to be at his graduation party. He has had a fantastic career.”

Wahl kissed the floor as he was exiting the game on Thursday night for head coach Greg Gard’s squad. He was the only senior player on the team that was celebrated in this matchup.
As for the rest of the Wisconsin Badgers squad, they had four players score in double digits. AJ Storr led the way for Wisconsin with 19 points, seven rebounds, and two assists. Steven Crowl recorded a double-double with 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
Justin Blackwell also scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Kamari McGee could be an x-factor come tournament time for the Badgers as he scored 11 points in 10 minutes of game action off the bench.
With this win, the Wisconsin Badgers improve to 19-11 on the year and 11-8 in BIG10 Conference play. Wisconsin is currently in a three-way tie for third place with the Northwestern Wildcats and the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Three Players Score in Double Digits For the Rutgers Scarlet Knights Against the Wisconsin Badgers
With the loss for Rutgers against Wisconsin, they drop to 15-15 on the year and they are 7-12 in BIG10 Conference play. The Scarlet Knights are tied with the Maryland Terrapins for the second-worst record in the conference.
Jeremiah Williams led the way for Rutgers with 16 points, as he was one of three players who scored in double figures against Wisconsin. Gavin Griffiths scored 14 points and Jamichael Davis also scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
This was a huge win for the Badgers program because they avenged the loss against the Scarlet Knights from earlier in the season. They also didn’t want to lose on Tyler Wahl’s Senior Day. Wisconsin will not have to sweat about their names being called on Selection Sunday.
The Badgers will have one more game in the conference on Sunday against the #3 Purdue Boilermakers on the road before the BIG10 Conference Tournament begins. Wisconsin has been much better offensively and they need to still get better on defense.
