The Wisconsin Badgers are back in the Associated Press’ Top 25, thanks to a pair of huge victories last week.

On Monday, the latest AP Poll was released and Wisconsin basketball finds itself ranked 24th. The Badgers certainly got a huge boost after scoring big wins against the then-No. 8 Illinois Fighting Illini on the road on Feb. 10 and versus the then-No. 10 Michigan State Spartans at home on Feb. 13.

Moreover, the Badgers have gone 4-1 in their last five outings, a stretch that also included home wins over the Minnesota Golden Gophers and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

The incredible performances of the backcourt duo of Nick Boyd and John Blackwell have immensely helped Wisconsin, and that tandem will continue to be relied upon by Greg Gard’s squad.

Fans think the Wisconsin Badgers should have gotten a higher spot

While it feels great for Badgers fans to see the team make its way back to the AP Poll, they also believe that Wisconsin deserves a higher ranking.

“The disrespect is crazy,” said a fan on X.

Another one said: “I’m cool w WI at 24. They’re not consistent and until they are, keep them humble so it isn’t embarrassing when they go from beating ranked teams to getting blown out from an unranked.”

From a commenter: “Should be top 15 wth are these polls”

“Should be higher ( Illini fan here),” a social media user posted.

Via a different commenter: “Should be top 20”

Said another: “There are not 23 teams better than Wisconsin. This is madness.”

In any case, Wisconsin will look to finish the regular season strong. With an 18-1 overall record and a 10-4 slate in Big Ten play, the Badgers are scheduled for a rematch against Ohio State on the road this coming Tuesday.
