While the Wisconsin Badgers gear up for the regular season finale with their rivals in Minnesota, there’s one junior on the team who’s still weighing his future. Cornerback Ricardo Hallman – a redshirt junior, said that his future with the team is up in the air as he weighs whether or not to enter the NFL draft. Friday’s rivalry game may be the final time we see Hallman with the Badgers.

Not Participating in Wisconsin Badgers Senior Day
The Badgers are honoring their seniors this week, and Ricardo Hallman is not participating in the senior day festivities at the final game of the season for the Badgers. The interesting piece to note here is that he was originally listed as a senior and was supposed to be honored during this event.
Ricardo Hallman won’t participate in #Badgers senior day today. Had been on the list earlier this week.
He said this week he’s still weighing his decision to return to Wisconsin next year or go to the NFL.

He’s still weighing his decision on whether or not to play with the Badgers next season or head to the NFL. Despite not being in his final year of eligibility, he had originally been part of the list of seniors that were being honored prior to the Badgers’ rivalry game. Not participating in the senior day activities may point to someone who’s not quite ready to leave the NCAA behind for the professional landscape.
Ricardo Hallman and His Time with the Badgers
If this is it for the talented cornerback with the Wisconsin Badgers, it’ll be hard to forget his 2023 season. That season, he logged seven interceptions to lead the nation, along with 34 tackles to his name.
While he wasn’t able to replicate his All-American performance from last season, it was largely due to fewer targets near him, and thus gave him some paltry numbers to go with it. This includes 14 tackles, no interceptions, and just a handful of pass deflections for the cornerback.
Even still, there’s plenty of talent under the hood for the cornerback. With another year of seasoning in the NCAA, he might be able to showcase more of the speed and agility that made him lethal in 2023. Wisconsin football would welcome Hallman back for another season with open arms. However, there are plenty of reports that he would be a mid-round pick in the NFL draft, and that might be too good of an opportunity to pass up.
One scouting report has him compared to Asante Samuel Jr. of the Los Angeles Chargers, who could end up going in the fourth round of the draft.
Hallman may have a big decision looming, but the choice to shy away from participating in senior day activities is an interesting one, and points to a return to the Wisconsin Badgers for the cornerback.
