The Wisconsin Badgers recruiting rankings are good for Luke Fickell
This season, the Wisconsin Badgers recruiting rankings took a dive when the school fired head coach Paul Chryst. Interim head coach Jim Leonhard fought to keep some recruits with the Badgers. But it was expected Wisconsin would need to overhaul their recruiting class when head coach Luke Fickell was hired. He’s done a pretty good job so far.
The Badgers signed 15 players on early signing day. That was an impressive number considering Wisconsin’s committed list was down to the single digits a few weeks earlier. Fickell didn’t stop there. He and his coaching staff have flipped commitments and brought in some major transfers that will make Wisconsin competitive next season. Now the Badgers have an impressive ranking for incoming tansfers.
According to Evan Flood with 247 Sports, the Badgers reached the top 25 transfer class for 2023 on Monday.

As of Tuesday morning, 247 Sports ranks the Badgers 28th nationally for transfers. The Badgers have seven transfers. It’s expected that more will come in the next few days. Quarterback Tanner Mordecai, who’s transferring from SMU, is the Badgers’ top transfer for 2023.
The Badgers’ overall recruiting class is ranked 58th by 247 Sports. Fickell still has until February 1st to add more Badgers for the 2023 class. It’s been a good month of recruiting for Wisconsin. But they still have many more pieces to add before they can compete for a Big Ten Championship.
