The Wisconsin Badgers recruiting buzz is at an all-time high. After years of being in the middle of the road, the team is finally able to go after some big recruits. The team has scored some 2024 recruits on the offensive side but has yet to have any commitments on the defensive side. They look to change that and have offered a scholarship to a three-star defensive lineman, Doiminic “DK” Kirks.
Wow! 🙏🏾 After a great conversation with @G_Scruggs I am very thankful and blessed to receive an offer from The University of Wisconsin! 🔴⚪️ #Gobadgers 🦡 @AllenTrieu @DemetricDWarren @On3Recruits @ChadSimmons_ @VASJFootball pic.twitter.com/cSuL0yAoqg

Wisconsin Badgers Recruiting: Dominic Kirks
Kirks is a 6-foot-5, 250-pound athlete out of Cleveland, Ohio. Because Luke Fickell has so many ties to the state of Ohio, it is not surprising to see him garner some interest from athletes in the state. So far, he has received offers from 12 Division I schools but Wisconsin is definitely the most high-profile. Maryland and Rutgers are the other Big Ten schools that have made Kirks an offer.

Building The Defense
With the addition of Phil Longo as the offensive coordinator, the Badgers have not had a problem attracting offensive talent. The offense should put up a lot of points but they need a defense to go with it especially in the November and December months when the weather can affect offensive output. Greg Scruggs has been hitting the recruiting trail hard and Fickell is known for his recruiting prowess. While the defense is lagging behind currently, I don’t expect that to be for long.
Hopefully, we see Dominic Kirks in a Badgers uniform in 2024. Games are often won in the trenches and building up the defensive line is going to be key for the success of the team.
