The Wisconsin Badgers hosted their pro day on Thursday. Nine players participated to show teams what they could bring to an NFL team. There were some eye-popping moments as many former Badgers took the opportunity to show what they could do.

The participating players were offensive linemen Tyler Beach and Joe Tippman, defensive lineman Keaanu Benton, cornerbacks Justin Clark, Cedrick Dort Jr, and Jay Shaw, linebacker Nick Herbig, safety John Torchio and punter Andy Vujnovich. The one most people were watching was Benton, who is projected to be the highest picked. However, it isn’t always about getting drafted. After the draft, there is often a flurry of signings of undrafted free agents and this is an opportunity for teams to see what players they might target during that period.

The Punter Steals The Show
Not many people had this one of their Wisconsin pro day Bingo cards. Andy Vujnovich’s broad jump was measured at 10′ 7″. For context, these are the same numbers as Illinois running back Chase Brown and Iowa cornerback Riley Moss had at the Combine. While a punter getting drafted is very rare, a performance like this could make him a viable undrafted free-agent target. Benton also had a solid outing and showed that he is one of the top defensive-line prospects in the draft. While it is unlikely that he goes in the first round, he most likely has solidified a day two slot.

The draft is about a month away. All of these players are looking to make the jump to the NFL and continue the tradition of Badgers helping teams win at the next level.
