Luke Fickell’s stint as Wisconsin Badgers football coach hasn’t been ideal as the team failed to qualify for any bowl game this season after 22 straight appearances. His cornerback Nyzier Fourqurean preaches patience.
The Badgers finished 2024 season (5-7) worse than they did last season (7-6) and it does not help, too, that many players have decided to enter the transfer portal as the program scramble to get back to elite status.
The team is busy with their offseason recruitment, trainings, and more and Fourqurean assures they are trending in the right direction.
The team recently made three changes in the coaching staff.
They hired Blake Rolan from Southern Illinois University as their new assistant wide receiver coach while Joe Ludwig was signed assistant tight end coach.
Another new addition is Tuf Borland who was elevated to assistant linebacker coach.
Nyzier Fourqurean vouches for Luke Fickell
The senior cornerback pleaded to fans to trust Fickell who has been under fire ever since replacing Paul Chryst in 2023.
Fourqurean believes they are going in the right direction under the tutelage of the former Cincinnati coach.
“Obviously, the last two years haven’t gone as we wanted to, especially this year,” he said during an interview with Bleacher Brothers while he was at the Hula Bowl last week.
“But it’s going in the right direction. I think that’s the biggest thing that I want fans to know that, to believe in coach Fickell and what they have going on over there, in the direction that he has the team going.”
