The Wisconsin Badgers football team recently hosted a top recruit on campus in an effort to persuade him to join the team.
Miles Lockhart, a 2024 four-star running back from Chandler, Arizona, has received multiple crystal ball predictions for the Ohio State Buckeyes. With a commitment date in July already set, is there any chance the Badgers can still make a push for Lockhart?

Coming in at 5-foot-10-inches, 185 pounds, Lockhart is a star at two positions already. The talented running back recorded 67 carries for 505 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground in two years of play. Lockhart also recorded 239 receiving and two touchdowns during that same span. On the other side of the ball, Lockhart is also an impressive corner back with exceptional ball skills.
Lockhart has played three seasons as a corner back with rather impressive statistics. The recruit recorded seven interceptions, 38 pass defenses, and 169 total tackles. Lockhart also recorded 8.5 tackles for loss as a corner back due to his versatility as a rusher. Whether he is scoring the ball or intercepting, there is always a place on the field for Miles Lockhart.
For the talented recruit, the success on the field has directly resulted in a bundle of scholarship offers. Lockhart currently has 22 scholarship offers at this time, with the Wisconsin Badgers and Ohio State Buckeyes battling it out for the top spot. Lockhart has been recruited by the Buckeyes much longer, as the Badgers offered Lockhart a scholarship in January. Ohio State, on the other hand, has been recruiting Lockhart since last June.
While the amount of time a team spends with a recruit will impact their decision, the environment will as well. Lockhart arrived on campus after a little over two months of being a Badgers recruit. Since the visit, Lockhart also booked an official visit in Madison for June. Lockhart also scheduled an official visit with the Buckeyes previously, but it will not occur until after the recruit has already made his Wisconsin visit.
With the way the cards are currently falling, the Wisconsin Badgers may have a chance to slip in last second to steal a recruit away from Ohio State.
