Wisconsin Badgers Men’s March Madness Projections in Week 10
The Wisconsin Badgers Men’s March Madness hopes are very much alive in early January. The Badgers come into Week 10 of their season ranked 18th in the AP Poll. Wisconsin was aided by a strong record (8-2) in non-Big Ten play.
But the past week has been a struggle for the team. The Badgers have dropped two Big Ten contests in a row. They lost on the road to Illinois 79-6 and 69-65 at home to Michigan State. Wisconsin is now 3-2 in Big Ten play.
It’s not the start to conference play they wanted, but they’re still alive for the NCAA tournament. According to ESPN’s NCAA Bracketology for Week 10, the Badgers would be in the Big Dance if the season ended Tuesday. ESPN projects the Badgers to be a seventh seed in the South bracket. New Mexico would be their first-round opponent. (Purdue would be the number one overall seed in the South.)
The Badgers need to improve soon to keep from being put on the bubble. We knew the Badgers would be challenged in Big Ten play. Wisconsin can impress the NCAA committee by winning their next two games. The Badgers play Indiana (10-5) on Saturday and Penn State (11-5) next Tuesday. Those two games will tell us much more about what this Wisconsin team is made of.
