The Wisconsin Badgers football staff has been waiting for many recruits to make their official visits, but one standout has been on the radar of the team for months.
Marcus Harrison, a 2024 three-star recruit, is one of the last offensive linemen left on the Badgers board following a massive commitment wave. Harrison is ranked as the 48th overall tackle in the class and the third overall recruit in New York. The Hamburg native currently has 11 offers and has been expected to make his commitment following his final scheduled official visit, which is with the Badgers next month.
Wisconsin Badgers Football: Three-Star Marcus Harrison Still Intrigued By Madison
The Wisconsin Badgers have had a difficult time trying to land offensive linemen as of late. Wisconsin lost out on major in-state targets Garrett Sexton and Donovan Harbour recently although both recruits had made multiple visits to campus. Recruiting is a difficult task and no matter where a recruit is from, there is no guarantee that the team will be able to land them.
However, the Badgers appear to have as close to a guarantee as they can get with the talented recruit Marcus Harrison. Harrison, the 6-foot-8-inch, 295-pound offensive tackle holds his ground and protects the quarterback with ease. Harrison currently has 11 scholarship offers, with the Badgers joining his recruitment in late February. The recruit has since scheduled an official visit to Madison and made his way down to the Georgia Bulldogs facility.
Since the start of his recruitment, offensive line coach Jack Bicknell Jr has been the primary contact between Harrison and Wisconsin. Bicknell Jr is an experienced coach with 35-years of coaching expertise accumulated from different levels. The coach recently served under the same title for the Kansas City Chiefs as well. Not only does Bicknell Jr have a fantastic track record, but the Badgers and coach Luke Fickell are also known for displaying incredible offensive lines.
Wisconsin has the tools to bring Harrison in and create a top-tier player who is ready for the professional level. Harrison is still a raw prospect who needs help with his footwork and field awareness, but once he begins to develop those skills more there is no doubt that he can become a top level starter in college. With his official visit coming next month, the Badgers will have the chance to finally meet Harrison with the full staff as he experiences Madison for the third time now.
Wisconsin Badgers Football: Can Wisconsin Seal The Deal With The Talented Offensive Tackle?
Wisconsin has gotten this close with both Sexton and Harbour during their recruiting processes. However, the Badgers were not able to land either recruit, which makes landing Harrison too good to be true at this moment. Harrison has already visited Madison earlier this year and set his official visit for June before leaving campus. The offensive tackle received a crystal ball prediction to land with the Badgers following his visit, and with the date quickly approaching, many still wonder if he will become a Badger.
Wisconsin is certainly in a great position with Marcus Harrison at this moment, and hopefully the staff will pull off the commitment before he leaves.
