The Arizona Cardinals are anticipating a busy offseason, including the possibility of losing their top linebacker who has been posting hints about his future in the past weeks. Jaheim Thomas of the Wisconsin Badgers is reportedly on their radar to address that.
NFL analyst Ryan Fowler reported that the Badgers linebacker impressed in the Hula Bowl and among those that took notice are the Cardinals which have five first round picks in the draft set to take place on April.
Cardinals’ interest is reportedly due to the anticipated departure of Kyzir White who is set to enter free agency in the offseason.
Fowler wrote:
Jaheim Thomas is a versatile defender with good burst and acceleration downhill. He offers a big frame with good athleticism. Thomas plays with the power to stack, peek, and deconstruct blocks at the point of attack. He operates with an enforcer and fearless downhill mentality.
Thomas impressed in his 2024 season with the Badgers although the team disappointed based on their standards after not reaching any bowls this season.
The 6’4 senior capped off the year with an invitation to the 2025 Reese’s Senior Bowl along with 11 other teammates.
Cardinals have fierce competition for Jaheim Thomas
The Cardinals have two good reasons to draft Thomas. He can be a replacement for White but if he does stay, Thomas will be a great developmental project.
It will be a tough competition for Jonathan Gannon’s squad as there are 10 other teams monitoring the Badgers veteran.
These are the Washington Commanders, Atlanta Falcons, Minnesota Vikings, Pittsburgh Steelers, Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns, Chicago Bears, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
