Kamari McGee shot two out of three from the three-point line in Wisconsin Badgers’ win over the  University of Southern California Trojans and that is enough to propel in the national rankings of college basketball’s best shooters.

The senior guard is now the most efficient from beyond the arc, converting 22 out of 39 attempts to lead all college basketball players in that department. He is currently shooting 56.4 percent from the three point line.

After knocking down two in Saturday’s win, Kamari McGee leads the nation in 3-point percentage.

Combining FTs, twos and threes, McGee is making 59.4% of his shot attempts.

At second place is SIU Edwardsville Cougars’ Brian Taylor who shoots 56.2 percent.

McGee is the only Badger in the Top 25 in three-point shooting.

The Racine native has been shooting the lights out lately and the improvement is very noticeable.

He more than doubled his shooting 3-point percentage as he shot just 25 percent from that department in his first three seasons of college basketball.

His point production from the bench has been very crucial for coach Greg Gard’s squad who are now on a seven-game winning streak and are now fourth in the Big Ten standings.

Kamari McGee as Sixth Man of the Year?

The Badgers offense feature John Blackwell, John Tonje, and Steven Crowl prominently but McGee always make a good account of himself whenever he joins them on the floor.

According to CBA Analytics, McGee made it three times in the best line-up combinations in Big 10 Conference.

The ranking was based on optimal performance. Badger of Honor argues that McGee should be a candidate for Sixth Man of the Year for knowing his role even though his point production is just around 7 points.

Gard previously expressed confidence that his team can hurt opponents in many ways despite the absence of key players. Key to that is the kind of plays they from McGee.
