The Wisconsin Badgers football staff has landed yet another talented 2024 recruit after a surprise commitment was announced this morning.

2024 three-star safety Kahmir Prescott from Pennsylvania has committed to the Badgers after naming them in his top five schools. Prescott is currently ranked as the 73rd overall safety in the class and the 24th overall player in his state. The 247 Sports Composite rankings placed Prescott at the 60th overall spot in the positional rankings, as well as the 625th recruit in the class.

After the talented recruit landed in Madison earlier this month, it seemed like his commitment was a lock. Prescott and Wisconsin coach Colin Hitschler developed an incredible relationship throughout his collegiate recruitment. Hitschler first met Prescott when he worked with the Cincinnati Bearcats, and shortly after taking the Badgers job Hitschler began to communicate with the recruit again.
The 2024 three-star recruit currently holds 13 offers, but recently cut his list down to five schools. The recruit brought his list down to Wisconsin, Nebraska, Pittsburgh, Penn State, and Michigan State. As Prescott seemingly shut his recruitment down, Wisconsin eagerly continued to chase after their prized recruit. It took eight days for Prescott to cut his list down again, but surprisingly this time it was his commitment.
The Badgers currently have the 21st overall recruiting class in college football, according to 247 Sports. Prescott ranks as the fifth best recruit in the 2024 recruiting class for Wisconsin as they continue to add to their skilled class. Prescott is the first defensive back to commit to the Badgers recruiting class, which has been an offense-heavy class thus far.
Wisconsin was in play for the talented safeties Koi Perich and Edrees Farooq, but each recruit has since announced their commitment to different programs. The Badgers have also continued to recruit undecided safeties Kennedy Urlacher and Leontre Bradford to join Prescott in Madison.
2024 Recruiting Class Shaping Up For Wisconsin Badgers Football
With the commitment of Kahmir Prescott, the Wisconsin Badgers now have one four-star commitment and seven three-star commitments in the 2024 recruiting class. Despite the in-state recruiting struggles the Badgers have encountered, their class has continued to grow with skilled recruits. The commitment of Prescott was rather surprising since he moved through his decision rather quickly. Following the three-star recruit committing, the Wisconsin Badgers are expecting more recruits to join soon.
Fellow 2024 recruits Darrion Dupree and Jerrae Hawkins have been linked to Wisconsin following recent interactions with the coaching staff. Dupree, a four-star running back, holds a crystal ball prediction for Wisconsin following a recent campus visit and staff meeting. Hawkins, a four-star receiver out of Florida, is one of the top recruiting targets for the Badgers. Hawkins holds 17 offers and has been expected to land with the Florida Gators since initially recruiting him as a freshman.
After landing multiple 2024 recruiting targets in the span of a week, the Wisconsin Badgers are sitting pretty. Many recruiting analysts had been worried about Wisconsin following the commitments of Donovan Harbour and Garrett Sexton. However, the new commitments the team has landed have overshadowed the potential misses.
