Zachary Taylor hasn’t played an official Wisconsin Badgers football game yet but already, he is making a positive impact to the team.
Badgers Wire reported that the Class of 2026 safety’s commitment to the team has pushed them higher in the national ranking.
“Notably, Taylor instantly becomes the Badgers’ highest-ranked commit in the cycle, besting defensive lineman Djidjou Bah,” it wrote.
“His addition pushes the class to 12 total commitments. That group now ranks No. 35 nationally and No. 12 in the Big Ten — those marks up from No. 40 and No. 14, respectively.”
Taylor, who hails from Katy Jordan is a three-star recruit who is ranked ranked 540 in America. He is also 43rd overall in the state of Texas.

He is described by 247 Sports as a versatile safety.
Knows how to crowd the catch window. Ideally would increase impact playmaking ability in regards to ball production on the stat sheet. Boasts significant snaps at corner and safety and could potentially serve as a chameleon in a college secondary. Projects to the high-major level and could possibly develop into a pro prospect.
Wisconsin Badgers’ current 2026 commitments
The Badgers’ 2026 batch is slowly taking shape with the recent commitments. They have so far received commitment from six players in this month alone, increasing the number to 12.
The other fivee are defensive linemen Djidjou Bah and Arthur Scott, tight ends Jack Sievers and Jack Janda, and linebacker Ben Wenzel.
All these commitments came shortly after they visited UW-Madison, crediting the way the coaches the vision that they have for them and their positions.
The team still awaits the decision other major recruits like running back Amari Latimer, wide receivers Jayden Petit and Zachary Washington, and offensive tackle Kamari Blair.
