The Wisconsin Badgers are among the talk of the college basketball world of late, largely because of a pair of wild victories.

After taking down the No. 2 Michigan Wolverines in Ann Arbor last Saturday to the tune of a 91-88 score, Wisconsin basketball played another road game on Tuesday against the unranked Minnesota Golden Gophers.

Many thought that the Badgers would be able to easily take care of business in Minneapolis, given the momentum they generated from the Wolverines game.

However, the Golden Gophers proved to be more than a handful to deal with for Wisconsin. Nevertheless, at the end of the day, it was Greg Gard’s squad that emerged victorious at Williams Arena, as John Blackwell drained a 3-pointer at the buzzer in the second half to give his team a wild 78-75 victory.

In a social media post on X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday, Blackwell shared a pair of emojis as a reaction to a video of his memorable dagger against the Golden Gophers.

The junior guard Blackwell led all scorers in the Golden Gophers game with 27 points on an efficient 8/14 shooting from the field with five 3-pointers and a perfect 6/6 shooting from the foul line.

He has been on a heater of late, having scored 26 points in the staggering upset victory against Dusty May’s Wolverines. On the season, he is averaging 18.6 points, 4.9 boards and 2.1 assists while shooting 41.0 percent from the floor.

Blackwell will look to keep it going when the Wisconsin Badgers take on the Rutgers Scarlett Knights in Madison this coming Saturday.
