Wisconsin Badgers senior guard John Tonje was named the Big 10 Player of the Week. He became just the 4th Badger in program history to score 40 points.
He was only two points away from tying the single game program record, set by Frank Kaminsky who had 43 points. Tonje did set a single game school record with making 21 free throws.

In the Badgers’ upset win over No. 9 Arizona on Friday, the senior logged a career-high 41 points. Tonje became the only player in the last 30 years to score 40 points and make 20 free throws in a single game against an AP Top 10 opponent.
He also collected Lute Olson National Player of the Week honors on Nov. 18. The 2025 Lute Olson National Player of the Year will be announced in April in San Antonio.
John Tonje’s playing days with the Missouri Tigers
He averaged 14.6 points last year and helped Colorado State to 80 wins during his career. Tonje committed to the Missouri Tigers on March 27, 2023.
John Tonje only averaged 2.8 PPG in eight games at Missouri last season due to injury. He averages 22.6 PPG this season with the Badgers.
