Wisconsin Badgers are on a hot streak but they have to calm down this week for their bye week, something that head coach Greg Gard doesn’t really see as a rest.

Instead, he regard it as a fortunate schedule since they will be matched up next to Purdue Boilermakers who before this week was the best team in the Big Ten conference. They dropped to no. 2 after falling to Michigan Wolverines.
The Badgers are sitting in fourth place behind Michigan State.
Gard is preparing his crew for a tough battle and he said they are ready for the Saturday clash with the bye week helping them.
“Our break has come at a good time … in terms of being able to rest up a little bit, catch our breath, get healthier a little bit. We’re looking forward to Saturday,” he said as quoted by Badger Blitz writer Benjamin Worgull.
So how did they spend the bye week?
It was not just about basketball that the players spent their time on. After all, his players are also students.

We still go to class and getting a degree is a high priority. How do you balance those things? What’s important?
I think understanding what has worked at this place … by and large is fundamentally sound, toughness, togetherness.
Greg Gard wants to keep team on their toes
Badgers are on a three-game winning streak and Gard hopes his team will be able to continue their streak.
This is why he clarified earlier that they are not going to use this week for rest.
Not satisfied, I’ll say that and I was just telling the guys,” Gard told reporters when asked about their most recent win against Iowa Hawkeyes.
“This isn’t the time to take a breath. We’re gonna continue to get better, and to find ways to sharpen ourselves individually, and collectively.”

Badgers beat Purdue in their last encounter in March last year but the latter appears to be a different team this season.
They have been very dominant before their lost to Michigan, recording 12 straight victories.
