Wisconsin Badgers legend Frank Kaminsky led the basketball program to back-to-back Final Four appearances in 2013-2014 and in 2014-2015. During the 2014 NCAA Tournament, they lost to the Kentucky Wildcats in the Final Four on a last-second shot.

In the 2015 NCAA Tournament, they beat the Kentucky Wildcats in the Final Four and it ended Kentucky’s undefeated season. In the National Championship Game, they lost to the Duke Blue Devils. Wisconsin has not been to the Final Four ever since Frank Kaminsky had a Badgers jersey on.

Duke Blue Devils Super Star Cooper Flagg Has Highest Rated KenPom Season Since Wisconsin Badgers Frank Kaminsky

This season in college basketball, the Duke Blue Devils have an 18-2 record and they are on their way to one of the number-one seeds in the NCAA Tournament. Cooper Flagg is one of the reasons why Duke is one of the best teams in college basketball this season. He is projected to be the number one overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.

Flagg this season is averaging 19.9 PPG, 8.0 RPG, 4.1 APG, 1.2 BPG, and 1.5 SPG. Cooper Flagg is shooting 48.7% from the field, 32.9% from three-point land, and 81.1% from the field. He also has a chance to be the National Player Of the Year in college basketball.

According to the college basketball report on Twitter:

“Cooper Flagg is currently having the highest-rated KenPom season since Frank Kaminsky in 2015. It ranks as the second-highest graded season for a player since KenPom Player of the Year (KPOY) tracking began in 2011.”

During the 2014-2015 season with the Wisconsin Badgers, Frank Kaminsky averaged 18.8 PPG, 8.2 RPG, 2.6 APG, 1.5 BPG, and 0.8 SPG. He also shot 54.7% from the field, 41.6% from three-point land, and 78.0% from the free-throw line. Kaminsky and Flagg have nearly identical stats.

Don’t compare Hooper Flagg to Frank bruh

    — Mamba Mentis (@mamamentis2) January 29, 2025

Frank was an absolutely elite college player and a very solid pro. Elevated his team in every category. Coincidentally lost to Duke in the NCAA Championship.

If Flagg wins ACC and National Championship, he’s the BEST Duke player ever. Laettner is the greatest, not Flagg best.

    — Sloan Lindsey (@Sloan_Lnds) January 29, 2025

He’s the best college player since Durant

    — Blake D. Moore (@Bcrossover15) January 29, 2025

Wow. Cooper Flag is already being compared to the greatest Basketball player of all time.

    — Badger Enthusiast (@Badger_szn) January 28, 2025

Ironic bc Wisconsin and Kaminsky got cheated in the natty vs Duke pic.twitter.com/CX1ZXKsmOA

    — Amit Patel (@unc9876) January 29, 2025

If the Duke Blue Devils win the National Championship this season with Cooper Flagg, it will be Duke’s first national title since beating the Wisconsin Badgers 10 years ago when they had Frank Kaminsky and other star players. There were a lot of fans who were not thrilled that Flagg was being compared to Kaminsky in this situation. Cooper Flagg is only going to be playing one season of college basketball and Frank Kaminsky played all four seasons with the Badgers.
