The Wisconsin Badgers football staff has worked hard to secure the recruiting control of their great state. Recently, the Badgers have landed the coveted commitment of 2024 three-star Bay Port linebacker Landon Gauthier from Green Bay, Wisconsin. Gauthier is one of two in-state linebackers the Badgers have worked hard for, and now the commitment shows the work has paid off. Gauthier marks the sixth hard commit for the Badgers in the 2024 recruiting class.
Wisconsin Badgers Football Lands 2024 Three-Star Landon Gauthier
After multiple visits and months of close recruiting, the Wisconsin Badgers have finally landed a commitment from 2024 three-star linebacker Landon Gauthier. Gauthier has been a star for Bay Port, recording stats against every offense he played against this past season. The talented linebacker sealed off the edge for his team and pressured the ball carrier constantly to make life miserable for opposing offenses.

Gauthier only had a handful of offers before deciding to call Wisconsin his next home. Syracuse, Stanford, and Minnesota had been leading the charge in the recruitment of the linebacker, but after recently getting a chance to visit Madison, Gauthier changed his mind. The linebacker attended Junior day a couple months ago and booked a second visit to Wisconsin right after. Gauthier did not need to meet with the staff a second time to decide.
The three-star linebacker is an incredible physical presence on the field as he towers over his opponents. Gauthier comes in at six foot three inches, 220 pounds with a great burst of speed as well. Gauthier can wait in coverage and track the offense to break up the incoming play. The linebacker also has the ability to pressure the quarterback off the edge and up the middle as blockers struggle to find a way to stop him.
The commitment from Gauthier comes at a great time as the chase for the linebacker had just started to heat up. Gauthier now also joins fellow 2024 three-star linebacker Thomas Heiberger, who committed to the Badgers early last week. Wisconsin has secured two defensive commitments now in their class as they continue to fight for the top spot in the 2024 football recruiting rankings.
Wisconsin will still need plenty more commitments to legitimize their 2024 recruiting class. However, the recent commitments from Gauthier and Heiberger bode well for the program as the new staff is already making an impact. The Badgers are looking to improve all aspects of their program, and landing talented recruits consistently is a great start.
