The Wisconsin Badgers football program has seen an influx of talent in the past couple of months. Luke Fickell and his staff have brought in a lot of talent, especially on the offensive side of the ball. It seems the defense will also be getting a boost by longtime Badger switching positions. Dean Engram looks to be switching positions back to cornerback.

Dean Engram Back To The Defense For Wisconsin Badgers Football
Engram started out on defense and special teams before transitioning to wide receiver last spring. Now it seems he is heading back to the defensive side of the ball. Engram posted a video on Twitter showcasing his defensive highlights of the past three years in Madison. It seems to signal that he is moving away from the wide receiver role and into the cornerback role. With the amount of wide receiver talent that came in through the transfer portal, it makes sense that Engram would move back to his preferred role.
No Receivers In The Past
Engram’s journey highlights the issues that Wisconsin has had in the past. They were so void of talent at the wide receiver position that they had to transition an athletic cornerback to a receiver to try and get something out of the position. While Engram is a solid player, he belongs in the cornerback position. He should help the defense that will hopefully have to protect some leads because of how much the offense is scoring.
The Wisconsin Badgers football program is humming with excitement right now. I’m sure there are Badgers fans that are already counting down the days to when they can see this team on the field. It will be great to see Dean Engram back on the defensive side of the ball. Hopefully, he has an amazing last season in Madison.
