The Luke Fickell reign continued today for the Wisconsin Badgers. This time he set a record by obtaining the highest-rated tight end that the Wisconsin Badgers have ever received. Four-star tight-end Grant Stec has announced his commitment to the University of Wisconsin.

Stec is listed at 6-foot-6, 230 pounds, according to his Hudl profile. 247Sports, ESPN and On3 evaluate the projected tight end as a four-star prospect. ESPN rates him as the No. 98 player in the 2024 class. Rivals lists 19 offers for Grant Stec.
One of thsoe offers were from Cincinnati. Guidugli, who held the Bearcats’ offensive coordinator duties during the 2022 season, now is the Badgers’ pass game coordinator/tight end coach. Stec previously announced Power Five offers from Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Michigan State, Louisville, Minnesota, Missouri, Northwestern, Penn State, Purdue, Rutgers, Syracuse, Tennessee, UW and Virginia Tech. Grant Stec is the highest-rated high school tight end Wisconsin has landed in the recruiting ranking era. Two guys that ended up playing that spot in college – Lance Kendricks and Travis Beckum – were rated higher but at other positions. The record setting commitment drew a ton of reactions from Badgers fans on social media:

Per 247sports, Stec is the nation’s No. 12 ranked tight end in the class of 2024. With a 247sports composite rating of 91.92, Stec is the highest-rated tight end prospect in program history during the internet recruiting rankings era. Stec is also the fourth highest-rated prospect from Illinois for the Badgers during that span as well.
