Wisconsin Badgers Early Leaders For Strong 2026 Three-Star Forward

The Wisconsin Badgers basketball staff will not leave high school recruiting alone despite recent success within the transfer portal.

While some programs have focused on acquiring talent in the portal or overseas, the Badgers recently assured that high school recruiting will be a mainstay. Wisconsin wants to find the best talent to go on the court regardless of where the talent comes from, and some of the talent the staff is looking for lies not far from campus.

Rashaun Porter, a three-star forward in the 2026 recruiting class, recently emerged as a top target for the Wisconsin Badgers staff. Porter currently holds offers from programs such as Central Michigan, Toledo, and Eastern Illinois. Wisconsin has not yet offered Porter, but with the staff keeping a very close eye on the recruit, a scholarship offer might be something on the horizon for the recruit.

Recruiting is quite literally a process and often takes different shapes for different players and different positions as well. For Porter, the process has been rather slow with just six offers on the table but loads of other programs taking a look at the recruit. One such program has been Wisconsin, who Porter believes to be one of his most consistent recruiters thus far into the process.

The Wisconsin Badgers staff has not given Porter a scholarship offer yet, but the staff loves the way the recruit plays and likely will continue to monitor the forward. DePaul is another program Porter listed as a top recruiter early on with an offer bound to hit the doorstep of the recruit before too long.

For the Wisconsin Badgers, the attraction to Porter has been due to the way the recruit plays at his size on the court. Porter stands tall at 6-foot-7-inches, and roughly 210-pounds with a near fully filled frame that could still see another 10-pounds added. The forward is athletic, shifty, and powerful on the court with moves to the basket that can drop other forwards and strong finishes at the rim that guards simply cannot stop.

Wisconsin has become more athletic and agile as a team but especially in the frontcourt, and Porter could become an excellent stretch option within the 2026 recruiting class with more development beyond the arc. The process of recruiting the 2026 class is still early, however, and much can change in the future regarding the recruitment of Porter.
