Wisconsin Badgers football’s spring practice is in full swing and it is time for both newcomers and mainstays to prove themselves as the team enter a new season with high hopes.

Billy Edwards Jr. has been very impressive according to head coach Luke Fickell and other analysts.
Add Charles Perkins and Jay’viar Suggs to the list of Badgers that could make the 2025 season exciting for fans.
Both players joined the team through the transfer portal. Perkins last played for the UT Martin Skyhawks while Suggs spent his 2024 season with the LSU Tigers.
Defensive coordinator Mike Tressel thinks the two players are not just bringing their toughness and physicality to Wisconsin. They have something that the team has been missing.
He is talking about the no-quit attitude.
“Their mentality exciting everyone on the defense, everyone on the team, to be honest with you,” Mike Tressel said as quoted by Badger Notes.

“Perkins, in particular, is a guy—it doesn’t matter what the last three plays look like, he is going to bring energy—he’s going to lift people up.”
“He comes in the huddle when I’m as angry as I could possibly be and gets me excited for the next rep because he says something wacko. I mean, he is what he is—he just lifts everybody up.”
Perkins hunger fuel him and Wisconsin Badgers will benefit from it
The defensive line has been dreaming of Division I football and he finally gets to live it through Wisconsin.
This is the main reason why he is excited to play for Badgers and he has been proving it on the field.
“It’s all come true, so I’m living the dream,” Perkins said.

“I chose Wisconsin because it was love at first sight,” Perkins said.
“I told myself if they want me and want to bring me in and play me, I am going to take the opportunity to do that instead of being in the portal and taking visits. I was going to take my visit to Wisconsin and commit on the spot.
