The Wisconsin Badgers appear to be in the market for a successful duo of offensive players set to depart West Florida, a notable Division II program.
Wisconsin has been in contact with West Florida transfer duo Marcus Stokes and Corey Scott. Stokes spoke with On3 earlier in the week and noted that the Badgers had been in consistent contact. Scott received a scholarship from Wisconsin yesterday as the Badgers aim to bring in both the quarterback and his favorite target.
Scott is a dynamic wide receiver who previously held offers from Bethune-Cookman, UT-Martin, and West Florida in high school. The receiver ultimately settled on West Florida and took a redshirt season as a freshman before earning Gulf South Conference Co-Offensive Freshman of the Year honors. Scott will end his West Florida career with 1,647 yards, nine touchdowns, and 97 receptions.

Stokes originally became a viral name for all the wrong reasons after the Florida Gators released the quarterback from his scholarship. The Gators’ staff decided to take the offer off the table after a video showed Stokes rapping explicit and controversial lyrics to a song. Other major programs followed, and Stokes was quickly left with a handful of Division II offers as a four-star recruit.
The quarterback had previously been considered a “bust” or ‘immature” due to the fact that his talents went to the Division II level. However, Stokes has been one of the most impressive quarterbacks in college football and will make his long awaited FBS debut next season.
Can the Wisconsin Badgers Secure Marcus Stokes and Corey Scott?

With both Stokes and Scott in the picture, Wisconsin appears to be scouting out as many successful quarterback options as possible. Stokes will likely come with a steep price tag but one that could still be significantly lower than other current portal entrants. Price and potential interest from the quarterback aside, the Badgers would certainly benefit from the addition of Stokes.
On the field, the quarterback recorded 3,297 yards passing, 30 passing touchdowns, 367 net rushing yards, and 10 rushing touchdowns this past season. Stokes has scored 57 touchdowns in the past two seasons after a shortened 2024 campaign allowed the quarterback to play just eight games.
Stokes and Scott would be an ideal package deal but Wisconsin would also benefit from the addition of just the talented receiving threat. Having a successful and dangerous quarterback helps create space, but Scott is a very capable receiver downfield.
This past season, Scott improved as an overall receiving threat with 63 receptions, 1,018 yards, and four touchdowns. Previously, the 6-foot-1 receiver primarily served as a red-zone threat before blossoming into a capable all-around receiver. Scott displays shades of Badgers’ Receiver Trech Kekahuna, who is set to depart via the transfer portal.
Can Wisconsin Land the Offensive Duo?
Being interested and connected to both players is one thing, but managing to land both is a whole other ballgame. Wisconsin has been in contact with Stokes but between how early in the process the quarterback is and the amount of interested programs, landing Stokes could be difficult. The quarterback previously had SEC interests and chose to stay close to home for his collegiate career twice.
Scott, however, could be a target that Wisconsin manages to secure a commitment from given his fit within the offense and other programs interested. Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota, and UCLA are the other top offers the receiver currently holds.
