Wisconsin Badgers’ tradition of having an agile big man will continue as Will Garlock remains locked in as the team’s future main center.
The Middleton high school started the 2024 season with an ankle injury that sidelined him for many games. He is using that ugly development as a fuel to get better for the Badgers where he expects tougher challenges.
“It’s going to be a step up, and I am ready for that challenge,” the 7’1 center said as quoted by Badger 247 reporter Nick Osen.
In an interview with the same reporter, Garlock, who was among the earliest to commit to the team, also pointed out that he remains in good spirit despite setback.
“I feel like overall, it wasn’t too bad. Obviously, me coming back later in the season with the injury kind of sucked overall, but, I was never really where I wanted to be 100 percent,” he explained.

“But I wasn’t mad about how the season was. I was happy with how I responded to a big injury that I had and how my teammates kind of helped me with that.”
Will Garlock on what he wants to improve for Wisconsin Badgers
Garlock is a star in high school. He anticipates something different when he enters college.
He said he wants to improve his overall game and will focus more on playmaking as he knows he will be surrounded by great players.
“Yeah, that is one area I have really strived to work on. Because, obviously next year when it comes to the Badgers, not all attention will be on me of course defensively, because everybody is really good at the next level,” he said when asked about his six assists in a win back in February.
He is also working to improve his jumper.

“I think they love my aggressiveness in the paint. And, one thing I am trying to work on is my jumper, because obviously at my height, it’s kind of unguardable at that height if I can hit the fadeaway, and my three-ball, too. I feel like defense and passing have come a long way.”
