Wisconsin Badgers Basketball Anticipated To Add Massive In-State Center (Report)

The Wisconsin Badgers Basketball program will be under a microscope this upcoming season.  Greg Gard has been hard at work on the recruiting trail this summer.  He has been multitasking, not only trying to land the crown jewel of the 2024 class but also laying the groundwork for 2025. Following the Badgers’ advanced camp, Gard extended a scholarship offer to in-state prospects of the ’25 class.  Now they are being predicted to land the massive recruit.

Will Garlock is a local prospect from Middleton. Measuring in at six-foot-ten-inches and 215 pounds, his recruitment has taken off since programs began contacting rising juniors earlier this month. The Wisconsin Badgers are the young center’s second unofficial visit this month after previously visiting head coach Shaka Smart and the Marquette Golden Eagles. In addition to Wisconsin, he holds scholarship offers from Marquette and Virginia Tech.

Shortly after Greg Gard offered Garlock his scholarship, 247Sports insider Evan Flood entered a Crystal Ball prediction for Garlock to commit to UW.  24/7 Sports have him at “100%” to Wisconsin.

Although Wisconsin and Garlock did not have official contact until this June, the local prospect is very familiar with the Badgers. The six-foot-ten-inch and 215-pound center attends Middleton High School. His lead recruiter, Wisconsin basketball assistant coach Dean Oliver, has a son that plays at Middleton.

The center is not currently ranked by any of the major recruiting services but is being pursued by multiple high-major programs. Garlock received a scholarship offer following an unofficial visit to Marquette and also received an offer from Virginia Tech.

As a 2025 recruit, Garlock would arrive on campus after Steven Crowl’s final season of eligibility. Garlock would project to receive minutes behind Gus Yalden – an incoming freshman in the 2023 class.
