Wisconsin Adds Walk-On Transfer Manny Mullens
The Badgers have had success with brothers in the past. The hope is they can have success again. Walk-on transfer Manny Mullens is the younger brother of current Wisconsin defensive end, Isaiah Mullens. He spent this past season playing Division II football at Lake Erie College. At 6′ 3″ and 285 pounds it is unclear what position he will play for Wisconsin. The most likely positions are offensive or defensive line but he played some tight end in high school. He played on the offensive line at Lake Erie College.
A Great Addition To Wisconsin
Mullens is a good raw talent. Because he played on the offensive line at Lake Erie College, there are very few stats to go off of. He has a similar body type to his older brother so some are wondering whether Wisconsin will put him opposite his brother on the line to terrorize quarterbacks. The good news about his versatility is the Badgers can look at where they have gaps in the roster and plug him in where necessary. Mullens is the first transfer portal recruit for 2023 and the fifth known walk-on set to play in 2023.
Despite recruiting being tough in the coaching transition phase, the Badgers look to be putting together a decent class for 2023. There are some important visits at the end of the season that could land the Badgers more talent in the coming season. For now, the Badgers can celebrate getting goo talent through the transfer portal.
