The Wisconsin Badgers have been working to complete their coaching staff ahead of the next season. The latest hire the Badgers have made has seen a former North Carolina staffer reuniting with his boss, Phil Longo. The new offensive coordinator for the Badgers is rounding out staff changes of his own and his newest hire brings the experience with him.
Wisconsin Badgers hire offensive analyst Rob Everett
The newest addition to the Badgers staff brings plenty of experience with him, but not just at the collegiate level. Rob Everett was a former assistant coach for the Memphis Express of the AAF, before their collapse. Everett was also the defensive coordinator for Bridgewater College. There isn’t much information out regarding what Everett has done, or what his exact role as an analyst will be for the Badgers.
However, the easiest way to sum up Everett is by calling him a football savant. Everett has done online coaching clinics on Youtube for both sides of the football. He effectively dismantles different coverage packages to explain where the holes and plays will be found. Everett also does the same for the defense, by showing where those plays will occur and how to frustrate an offense.
Everett has spent the last two seasons as an assistant to Phil Longo. His main responsibilities have been game planning and assisting in scheming against the opponents defense. Sometimes, the best way to develop an offense is by deciphering what defense is being thrown onto the field. Everett conducts the groundwork of each game plan and in turn prepares the team for what will be thrown their way.
Rob Everett joined a podcast a while back titled Inside The Headset. On the podcast, Everett speaks about his commitment to efficiency and working through issues. These skills become necessary to create a top-tier offense, and it should certainly be interesting watching Everett utilize the new tools he has at Wisconsin.
