Across the past week, Adames was a consistent powerhouse behind the plate- much needed for the Brewers after a slow start to the season for the offense. Could this be a sign that the bats are waking up? It might be too early to go that far, as the Brewers still sit fairly low in MLB offensive rankings, but the end of April has significantly lifted those numbers. Adames especially has really found his groove, as this award proves.
April 26 vs. Pittsburgh
After an electric performance against the Pirates on April 26, Adames turned heads nationwide. That night sealed the deal for Adames taking the NL honors this week. That night, he had his first multi home-run game. He finished the night with a whopping 7 RBI, tying the franchise record for most RBI in a single game.
Make that SEVEN RBI today for Willy Adames after his second home run of the game 😳
That’s three home runs in two days for the Brewers SS.

What Next?
Could this be the start of Adames’ 2022 MVP campaign? While the season is still pretty young, if he keeps this level of play up, BBWAA voters would be hard-pressed not to vote for him. There are a lot of games left between now and then, but Adames is doing exactly what he needs to right now.
Individual honors aside, Adames’ performance is simply helping the Brewers win games. Presently, the Brewers sit atop the NL Central rankings and Adames’ bat is a major factor.
