Christian Watson’s season started slow, plagued by injuries and drops, but by the end of the year it looked like Green Bay had found something in the second-round pick from North Dakota State University. Watson showed off his athleticism and IQ on this play. Rodgers caught the Titans sleeping as the quarter ended and got a free play. Watson knew what to do with it and got in the endzone. Rodgers gave him a shot and Christian Watson went up and made a play.

Christian Watson’s speed and ability when he had the ball in his hands were some of the many reasons the Packers drafted him. He showed his explosiveness in this play when he turned the corner on a handoff. Once he hit the open field there was no chance he was getting caught.

Watson is not just fast. He has shown his ability to make great plays with his hands. Despite starting the season with a drop that would have been a 75-yard touchdown, Watson showed his hands off later in the year. This catch against the Lions came in a win-or-go-home game with the Packers trailing by four. The ability to track the ball and bring it in while being interfered with is truly remarkable.

This play may have been a glimpse of the future. The Packers went on the road to Philadelphia as big underdogs and Aaron Rodgers left the game with an injury. Jordan Love came in and immediately found Christian Watson streaking across the field. Once he caught the ball it was pure speed all the way to the end zone.

Perhaps the biggest play of Christian Watson’s career. To this point, he had dealt with injuries and drops, but the Packers really needed him to show up in this game. Watson made a great over-the-shoulder catch to get the Packers on the board against the Cowboys. This was the first of three touchdowns he would score in the game.
