The Bucks have interest in Eric Gordon. They have already resigned SG Wesley Matthews, and they signed Joe Ingles. But they could still add shooting and length on wing. In an article from si.com, writer Grant Afseth said, “The Rockets even received trade offers that included a first-round pick from teams including the Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, and Phoenix Suns.” Eric Gordon can bring perimeter shooting and scoring and some defense to a bucks bench unit.
Why Eric Gordon is Better than Joe Ingles
From Nathan Marzion at behindthebuckpass.com, “Ingles is a bit risky because he will be 35 years old coming off a torn ACL, and he wasn’t that great last year in the half season that he played before getting hurt. He averaged just 7.2 points per game on 40.4 percent from the field and 34.7 percent from three — all down numbers compared to where he was in previous years. He is expected to return around December or January, so the Bucks will need to start the season without him.”Eric Gordon could be the what the Bucks want Joe Ingles to be post-injury. Gordon is one year younger at 34. He averaged more points (13.4) on better field goal (47.5) and three point (41.2) shooting percentage. Gordon can provide better defense also. Both players averaged half of a steal. Gordon averaged 0.2 more blocks per game than Ingles.
Overall Gordon looks like the better player on paper. The Bucks tied up most of their cap space with the resigning of their free agents. Gordon would most likely need to be acquired in a trade. If the front office can figure it out Gordon would be a great addition to a solid lineup.
