The Green Bay Packers are going to have to find some solutions at the wide receiver position during the 2025 NFL offseason. Christian Watson tore his ACL on Sunday during the 24-22 loss against the Chicago Bears. It is also possible that Watson could miss the entire 2025 NFL season.
There is no doubt that they will have to find a potential replacement for him this offseason. One potential name to watch for this offseason for the Packers is New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson.
Pro Football Focus Thinks That New York Jets Wide Receiver Garrett Wilson Is A Trade Candidate And Maybe the Green Bay Packers Could Chime In
Bradley Locker of Pro Football Focus created an article on Monday about 15 different NFL players who could potentially get traded this NFL offseason. One name that he could potentially get shopped is Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson. Locker said about Wilson potentially being on the move this offseason:
“Where there’s smoke, there’s often fire, and plenty is billowing around Wilson and the Jets entering this offseason. With only one year left on Wilson’s rookie contract and a series of sweeping changes inbound, New York could elect to trade him.
Wilson has proven to be a stud during each of his three years as a pro. Since debuting in 2022, Wilson’s career 85.4 PFF receiving grade ranks 22nd among wide receivers (minimum 100 targets), and he has dropped only 4.4% of his 315 catchable targets.
It would behoove the Jets’ new general manager and head coach to try to keep and extend Wilson, but New York could look to save money and start over at the position. On top of that, rumors have circulated that Wilson and Aaron Rodgers didn’t enjoy a strong rapport in 2024 — although this may have been Rodgers’ final NFL season. Without much certainty anywhere, Wilson being traded doesn’t feel like a far-reaching idea.”
Garrett Wilson could very well become the number one wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers if the Jets decided to trade him this offseason. Wilson is only 24 years old and was the 10th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
This past season with the New York Jets, he caught 101 passes for 1,104 yards receiving, and seven touchdowns, along with averaging 10.9 yards per catch. Garrett Wilson was also targeted 154 times. Wilson would be going from catching passes to Aaron Rodgers to Jordan Love.
Packers Fans Want Wilson
I’m going to live in the fantasy land where Garrett Wilson indeed wants out of New York and the Packers land him this offseason

Sign Tee Higgins or trade for Garrett Wilson. Packers need to do something asap to fix the failing WR room

Gotta move on from him. Good guy. Great player when healthy. But he can’t stay healthy. Should have gotten a Buckeye WR in the draft when we had chances. Garrett Wilson may want a new home. Go grab him

I want Garrett Wilson instead

If the Green Bay Packers do trade for Garrett Wilson, they would most likely have to give him a new contract. The Packers would upgrade from Christian Watson to Wilson. It would be a mistake for the New York Jets to trade him, but it would be a major move for the Packers if they decided to make a deal for him.
