In many sports, including football, basketball, and baseball, it is typically expected that once an athlete retires, they will not return. Nonetheless, some individuals do choose to un-retire and achieve notable success, while others remain retired.

The Indianapolis Colts acquired Philip Rivers following the injury sustained by Daniel Jones, who tore his Achilles tendon. Rivers has not competed in professional football since the 2020 season, yet he is regarded as a potential future Hall of Famer.

Aaron Rodgers and Philip Rivers might start in the first round of the AFC playoffs. Meanwhile, Pat Mahomes from the Kansas City Chiefs, Lamar Jackson from the Baltimore Ravens, and Joe Burrow from the Cincinnati Bengals could be watching from home. This situation could make things really interesting.

There is a compelling case for America to anticipate a playoff matchup between Rivers and Rodgers. This contest has the potential to feature a competitive encounter between two veteran quarterbacks.
