The Packers might be closer to getting key pieces of their team back for the game in London on Sunday. Among the players on the injury report: right tackle Elgton Jenkins, safety Adrian Amos and cornerback Jaire Alexander. These three key players, especially Adrian Amos were sorely missed last Sunday against the New England Patriots, but it’s a new week. The full iPackers injury report is listed here and will be updated later today.
Amos Making Progress
For starters, Adrian Amos was in concussion protocol earlier this week and missed last week’s game but he was able to return to practice on Thursday after not participating in practice on Wednesday. His status for Sunday’s game against the Giants is unknown. Since he was able to practice today, the team will have to keep a close eye on him during the flight to London to see how he feels. But he’s not the only piece from the Packers secondary have been missing.
Jaire Coming Back?
In addition, cornerback Jaire Alexander practiced in a limited capacity for the second straight day after missing last Sunday’s game with a groin injury. His status to play is unknown as well so keep an eye on him. If he is able to play, the secondary will get a big boost. Fingers crossed. For what it’s worth, the Packers are currently ranked fifth in the NFL in overall defense.
Offensive Line Boost
Lastly, offensive tackle Elgton Jenkins practiced for the second straight day after coming off a knee injury a week ago. With the Packers trying to build chemistry on the offensive line, he is quite an important piece to their success. As I said a week ago, the offense as a whole is a work in progress.
Closing Thoughts
With the Packers currently 3-1, they are building momentum week by week and only getting better with having their key players come back from injury. Their next three games are against the Giants, Jets and Commanders. They could be 6-1 at that point with a fully healthy roster which will set up a must see showdown against the Buffalo Bills in week eight. Stay tuned…
