Aaron Rodgers has been very optimistic about his young WR unit throughout training camp. He has been patient with the growing pains. A few days ago, it seems his patience ran out. After practice, it was not certainly surprising to see Rodgers show frustration with receivers outside of veterans Randall Cobb and Allen Lazard.
The Packers did not help themselves vs. the Saints during practice. Rookie stand-out Romeo Doubs has had some electrifying catches but also has struggled with drops. He had a big one today. Doubs beat Saints cornerback Bradley Roby, and Rodgers threw a perfect ball. Doubs simply dropped it. Rodgers called that throw his best of the day. It obviously has to be frustrating when a receiver drops your best throw of the day. After practice, Randall Cobb was asked about Aaron Rodgers’ comments regarding the rookie wide receivers. Cobb consequently didn’t hold back.
Randall Cobb’s Comments Regarding Packers Rookie Wide Receivers:
#Packers WR Randall Cobb didn’t hold back yesterday when asked if he thought the young wide receivers appreciate the ‘tough love’ from QB Aaron Rodgers – rather than silence.
Pretty certain after hearing this, the standard is set in the wide receiver room.

It doesn’t matter if they appreciate it or not. This is the way we do things here. So, it’s either you get with it or you get out the room and we’ll find someone who will get on board with what we are trying to accomplish.
Aaron Rodgers Demands Excellence… Even Of Rookies
Over the years, even when Randall Cobb was young, Rodgers quickly lost trust and demanded excellence from those around him. He did not lower his standards because players are rookies. However, Rodgers talked to the rookies about the next step after the disappointing practice.
“Aaron spoke to us about what he likes or what not just based on concepts or what he sees,” fourth-round rookie receiver Romeo Doubs told reporters following Wednesday’s practice. “It was just really giving us advice,” seventh-round rookie receiver Samori Toure said. “Basically, letting us know that the Green Bay receiving corps has always been held to a super-high standard. All the legends who have been through here.
What’s next for Randall Cobb, Aaron Rodgers and this group of young receivers looking for redemption is a preseason matchup against the Saints Friday at 8:00 PM ET.

AROD needs to sport a “lip corner to lip corner” straight down, clean cut sides and underneath the chin. If his critics wanna have something to talk about, since the ROD-MAN can have whatever attitude he wants. He knows how to win, and though the idiot critics are just that, AROD played them like $2.00 harps!!!!!
Keep winning and let the babblers babble bullshit. We know your abilities, and stand behind that. Your attitude is a game you like to play……
keep playing it Aaron!!!!!
