For any rookie, I can’t imagine the excitement of scoring your first touchdown. Being a Green Bay Packer comes with another level of excitement. Scoring your first touchdown means getting to do your first Lambeau Leap. After the game on Sunday, Packers rookie, Christian Watson, talked about his first Lambeau Leap.

During Sunday’s victory over the Patriots, Christian Watson scored on a jet sweep. He showed off his speed as he went untouched into the end zone. There was no question on where Watson was going next. He immediately made his way to the stands for his first Lambeau Leap. When asked about it he said the feeling was “surreal”. He went on to say that this is something he has dreamed about forever and was excited that he got the opportunity.
Many More To Come For Christian Watson
Watson has had a slightly rough start to the season. His missed time in training camp as well as his big drop in week 1 have led some to doubt his skills. However, if you watch him on the field, there is no question he has the raw skill. His ability to beat his man off the line and participate in the running game makes him a dangerous weapon. Even if he only gets the ball a couple times a game, the defense has to respect his speed. All the focus has been on Romeo Doubs‘ ascension (rightfully so I may add) but Watson is catching up fast. The Packers look to have a couple of really good receivers for the future.
It is cool to hear Christian Watson talk about his first Lambeau Leap. There are not many franchises that have an iconic celebration that is still used today. In the past other teams have but none have stood the test of time. Players clearly look forward to scoring and jumping into the stands. I expect Christian Watson to be making many Lambeau Leaps in his time as a Packer.
