The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the San Diego Padres 6-3 on Sunday afternoon. Milwaukee was led on offense by three home runs and some timely hitting. Check out the highlights and analysis (video footage from Brewers and Bally Sports Wisconsin social media platforms).
Keston Hiura Had a Big Day
One of the major question marks going into this season is if Keston Hiura can return to his 2019 form. If he does, where will he play? Today, Hiura went 2-2 with a home run and three RBI. He has toned down his leg kick and appears to be more comfortable at the plate. Most promisingly, the strikeout prone hitter drew a walk.

As seen in the video, Hiura’s second inning bomb was to the opposite field. When Hiura is able to drive the ball the other way, it is a sign that he is locked in. He drove in two more runs later in the game on an infield single.
Back-to-Back Jacks from Brewers Hitters
In the fourth inning, Jace Peterson and Mike Brosseau hit back-to-back home runs to give the Brewers a 4-0 lead. Peterson’s home run came with Hiura on first base.

Luis Urias is going to be out for a couple of weeks with a quad injury. Manager Craig Counsell stated that Opening Day may be in question for him. With a void now at third, it is important for the Brewers to find an adequate answer at the hot corner. Both Peterson and Brosseau are candidates to start on Opening Day if Urias is still out.
Flashy Defense and Nasty Sliders
Not to be outdone, Pablo Reyes came into the game later and flashed some fancy leather.

Today’s game was started by Freddy Peralta. Peralta picked up right where he left off last season, going 2.2 innings and striking out three. He allowed just one hit. Peralta, known for his nasty slider, gained an early nod from the Pitching Ninja on Twitter today.
