Aaron Rodgers has certainly made the offseason rounds on the podcast circuit. He generates social media buzz every time he speaks, so there has been a lot to unpack the last few weeks. His appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience broke the internet for a while this weekend, for one thing or another. 3 hours is a long podcast! On Tuesday, however, his appearance on Barstool Sports Bussin’ With The Boys Podcast contained a nugget that was specifically intriguing to Packers Fans.
Rodgers Asked Start, Bench, Cut
Start, Bench, Cut is the sports version of a well-known social game with an NSFW name. I’ll let you do the math on that. On the podcast, Rodgers was asked by teammate Rob Tonyan to start, bench, and cut former teammates Jordy Nelson, Davante Adams, and Donald Driver. Here is his answer:
Bench one, Cut one, Start one:
Davante Adams
Jordy Nelson
Donald Driver pic.twitter.com/ijCUDKFcK8— Bussin' With The Boys 🐺 (@BussinWTB) August 30, 2022
This is exactly how I expected Rodgers to answer the question. Lets be honest, Driver was a Favre guy. So that was an easy choice for him to cut. The start and bench was a little hazier, but I’m not surprised he started Davante and benched Jordy. Davante does things at the line of scrimmage that can work with any quarterback. Heck, he put up numbers with Brett Hundley throwing him the ball. Jordy and Rodgers had a telepathic connection on the field, but that didn’t really translate for Jordy when he had others throwing him the ball. That said, I’d take Jordy straight off the farm and into the red zone offense in a heartbeat. Guarantee him and 12 still have that connection.
