The Washington Nationals drafted outfielder Dylan Crews from LSU second overall in the 2023 MLB Draft in July. Crews played in 14 games with the Fredericksburg Nationals in Single-A. Washington’s organization has decided to call him up to the Double-A Harrisburg Senators and have him skip High-A Wilmington Blue Rocks.

Dylan Crews was on the 2023 National Championship LSU team. His game has carried over from the collegiate baseball season into the Minor Leagues for the Washington Nationals organization. With Fredericksburg, he had a .355 batting average with five home runs and 24 RBIs, along with one stolen base. His on-base percentage is .423. He also played a game with the Nationals rookie ball team and went 3-for-3 in that contest.

On MLB.com, Dylan Crews is currently the fourth-best prospect in all of baseball. He a 21-year-old who bats from the right side of the plate. Crews is 6’0″ and weighs 205 lbs. He is projected to reach the MLB level with the Nationals in the year 2024.

The Washington Nationals have had other outfielder prospects before in the organization that have gone on to be great players in the MLB. Two of them were Bryce Harper and Juan Soto. Neither are with Washington anymore. However, Harper is one of the best players in the league, and Soto won a World Series title as a rookie in 2019 with the Nationals.

They hope Dylan Crews will become great, and he has all-star potential written all over him. Crews played in 71 games this past season for the LSU Tigers in college baseball. He had a .426 batting average with 18 home runs and 70 RBIs, along with six stolen bases.

Dylan Crews will most likely stay in Double-A for the rest of the season. It will be interesting to see if he will start in 2024 in Double-A or Triple-A with the Rochester Red Wings. Washington has a very bright future in the outfield. If they don’t trade any prospects away, the projected future outfield for this franchise will be James Wood, Robert Hassell, and Dylan Crews.
