NBA All-Star festivities will take place on Saturday, February 19th. Milwaukee Bucks players Giannis and Thanasis Antetokounmpo, along with Khris Middleton, are all competing in some way, shape, or form. However, this question remains: was Bobby Portis snubbed after not being selected to compete in the MTN DEW three-point contest?

After not being selected, Portis took to Twitter to let the NBA know his thoughts. All-Star week is about putting on a show and entertaining fans. Have you ever watched a Milwaukee Bucks game? Portis is a fan favorite and as entertaining as they come.
Fans always complain about selections for All-Star games. But ask yourself this: who would you remove to replace with your choice? Let’s take a look at the three-point contest field and who Portis could replace.
All-Star Field
Below you will find the three-point contest field in descending order by percentage. Included with the percent will be their made threes listed first, followed by their number of attempts.
Luke Kennard: 123-286 43%
Patty Mills: 173-408 42.4%
Karl-Anthony Towns: 101-247 40.9%
Desmond Bane: 146-358 40.8%
Zach LaVine: 129-322 40.1%
Fred VanVleet: 185-467 39.6%

The Replacement
So, who should Bobby replace in the contest? Karl-Anthony Towns. The big man will already be playing in his first All-Star game. In addition, KAT is the player who Bobby’s numbers closely represent. Spreading the love amongst more NBA players during All-Star week would likely enhance the product we are watching.
Bobby Portis: 94-220 42.7%
KAT: 101-247 40.9%
Look at Portis’ stats. The only logical explanation for him not making the three-point contest is because he doesn’t have the “makes” to be considered. However, it should be worth noting that Portis has far fewer attempts than many of the players in the field. If given 50 or more attempts, there’s no question he would have been selected.
