Wade Miley, a 38 year old and 15 year MLB veteran, recently saw his name surface as a drug supplier for Tyler Skaggs. Miley is rumored to have provided Skaggs with prescription drugs in 2012-2013 when the two were teammates for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Skaggs died in 2019 due to an overdose when he was a member of the Los Angeles Angels.
After Skaggs’ death, Eric Kay, former Los Angeles communications director, was sentenced to 22 years in prison for his role in supplying Skaggs with drugs. However, Miley has not been conflicted of any wrongdoing and he again re-iterated those thoughts in a five sentence response.
Wade Miley responds to latest Tyler Skaggs report

Miley, currently a member of the Cincinnati Reds and recent returnee from elbow surgery, issued a five sentence statement. “I hate what happened to Tyler, it sucks. My thoughts are with his family and his friends. But I’m not going to sit here and talk about things that someone might have said about me or whatnot. I was never a witness for any of this. I was never accused of any wrongdoing.”
This is not the first time Miley’s name has surfaced in relation to Skaggs as his name also surfaced in the criminal proceedings. Kay, who was sentenced to 22 years in prison, informed his mother during a phone call in prison that Miley had also been a drug supplier for Skaggs.
The wrongful death lawsuit filed by Skaggs’ family in 2021 was against the Los Angeles Angels. In this lawsuit they were providing evidence that demonstrate that multiple Angels employees were aware of Kay’s drug use and that Kay was providing illegal drugs to Skaggs.

For now, as Miley said, he has not been accused of any wrong doing. He also declined to comment as towards whether or not Major League Baseball had reached out to him about these accusations. Miley said “I’d rather just focus on the Cincinnati Reds right now and baseball and what I have to do moving forward.”
