Last year, Brewers teenage outfield prospect Jackson Chourio made a name for himself. Out of nowhere, he became Milwaukee’s top prospect and he finished near the top in several 2022 prospect rankings. One reason for this was due to his ability to hit the ball over the wall. Across three minor league levels, he belted 20 home runs.

Chourio is entering the 2023 season as MLB Pipeline’s third ranked prospect. It is expected that the two prospects ahead of him will graduate off the list during the season. This means that Chourio could be the top ranked prospect in all of baseball at some point during the 2022 season.
It seems likely that Chourio will begin the 2023 season in Double-A. He got his feet wet at that level at the end of last year. If he continues to perform well, it is possible that he could see time with the Brewers in 2023. Although this is unlikely, manager Craig Counsell did not rule out the possibility earlier this off-season.
