For the second time this season, Giannis Antetokounmpo scored less than 20 points in a game. He tallied only 16 in the Bucks’ 97-92 loss to the Houston Rockets in Houston Sunday night. The other game this year when he scored less than 20 points was on November 16 against Cleveland in Milwaukee’s win over the Cavs. He also had 16 points in that contest.
A problem for Giannis against Houston?
What’s interesting is that in the last 12 games where Giannis has scored less than 20 points, three of those games came against the Rockets. It happened twice at the end of the 2020-21 season. He had one point in a game versus the Rockets on April 29 (more on that game later) and then had 17 points against Houston about 10 days later.
Let’s take a deeper look at Giannis’ games where he scored less than 20 points. Let’s go back to his third year in the league (2015-16) and see how many games since that season he tallied less than 20 points in a game.
Since 2015-16, Giannis had under 20 points 130 times. The Bucks were 62-68 in those games with 73 of those games occurring on the road and 57 at home.
