The #13 USC Trojans will host the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday with kickoff scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT on CBS. USC is 2-1 to start the season, but they are 0-1 in BIG10 Conference play after losing to the #12 Michigan Wolverines 27-24 this past Saturday.
As for Wisconsin, they have a 2-1 record on the season and this will be the first BIG10 Conference game for the Badgers this season. This is a must-win game for both teams and both teams are dealing with various injuries.
USC Trojans Tight End Lake McRee Expected To Miss Time and Most Likely Won’t Play Against the Wisconsin Badgers This Weekend
Trojans tight end Lake McRee took a low hit to the knee against the Michigan Wolverines. USC feared that it was a season-ending injury for him, but luckily it was not the case for him. Trojans head coach Lincoln Riley said on his Trojans live appearance:
“Lake’s a great player. Hate not to have him here right away but we’ll get him back soon.”
McRee was injured on the first drive of the second half against the Michigan Wolverines and he did not return to the game. Lake McRee struggled in the game as he finished with three receptions for -3 yards receiving and zero touchdowns against the Michigan Wolverines defense.
On the season, he has caught 12 passes for 134 yards receiving and zero touchdowns, along with averaging 11.2 yards per catch. Lake McRee is currently in his junior season with the USC Trojans. Freshman Kade Eldridge is expected to be the starting tight end for USC against the Wisconsin Badgers.
This season, he has caught two passes for 17 yards receiving and zero touchdowns, along with averaging 8.5 yards per catch. Eldridge will have a bigger role with the team in McRee’s absence.
Badgers Don’t Have Tyler Van Dyke
Along with the Trojans key injuries, the Wisconsin Badgers don’t have quarterback Tyler Van Dyke for the rest of the season because of a torn ACL. Braedyn Locke will get the start instead at the position.
Locke will need to play well against Miller Moss to have any chance for the Badgers to pull off the upset. However, the USC Trojans are much deeper than the Wisconsin Badgers are also.
