The Denver Broncos announced late yesterday that they are signing a former Green Bay Packer. Green Bay has often been a good evaluator of talent and other teams tend to take flyers on those players. The Broncos are in a tough spot with new head coach Sean Payton trying to turn things around after a disastrous season. The team signed defensive lineman Tyler Lancaster to the roster.
Denver Broncos Sign Tyler Lancaster
Lancaster played four seasons with the Packers. He started 21 games and posted 110 tackles. That is pretty good for an undrafted free agent out of Northwestern. Last season he signed with the Las Vegas Raiders, but injuries led him to be cut and miss the 2022 season. He now joins a Denver defense that was ranked in the top ten last season and was a bright spot for the team.

Can The Packers Defensive Line Be Better This Season?
The defensive line is an area where improvement is necessary, especially against the run. Kenny Clark is awesome but he cannot do everything by himself. Devonte Wyatt will hopefully make a year two leap and the versatility of first-round pick Lukas Van Ness will provide some depth. The biggest weakness for the defense last year was the inability to stop the run on first down. If the team can limit the number of yards on first and second down, the elite pass rushers and cornerbacks can go to work.
It is always great to see former Packers get signed elsewhere. While I am not sad that Tyler Lancaster is on another team, it is good to see him land somewhere.
